Thorough knowledge/understanding of fire and life safety including related laws and regulations and general knowledge/understanding of all EH&S fields.
Three (3) years recent full-time experience performing a combination of fire prevention inspections, fire protection systems inspections, plan review and construction inspections in California, local or state entity responsible for fire and life safety code and regulation enforcement.
Expert knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting applicable local, state, and federal regulations and related standards, guidelines and, as appropriate, recommend campus or UC system-wide policy.
Experience in fire protection systems, including nomenclature, operating principles, design and installations requirements, testing and maintenance procedures and ability to effect corrective action.
Demonstrated working knowledge of: California Code of Regulations, Title 19, and Title 24, Parts 1-9; National Fire Codes (published by the National Fire Protection Association); working knowledge of the Flammable and Combustible Liquids and Hazardous Materials Regulations in the California Fire Code.
