Mesa Design Architects JOB CAPTAIN/PROJECT ARCHITECT / (7-10 YEARS EXPERIENCE)
Mesa Design Architects and Hydam Construction Inc is a highly creative and specialized Design Build team with their office in Thousand Oaks, California engaged in the design and construction of Hospitals, Outpatient Surgical Centers and specialized Healthcare facilities throughout California. Currently, we are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Project Architect/Job Captain to join our growing team. The ideal Project/Lead Architect must demonstrate a strong understanding of hospital and healthcare facility planning, design and construction and possess the ability to lead a multidiscipline team of consultants to produce a ‘Construction Documents’ package covering needs-assessment, programming, planning and design phases. The successful candidate will have led such projects through the construction and licensing phases to full occupancy. California OSHPD experience in a leadership role is required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Revit, Sketchup, BIM and similar software applications in the industry

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications at a minimum:
Must have a Bachelor’s in Architecture
Must have Architect’s License in the State of California or the ability to obtain within 2 years of joining.
Minimum of 7-10 year experience, with the last 3-5 years working as Job Captain/Project Architect on California OSHPD 1 projects
Must be highly proficient in AutoCAD/Revit and in utilizing other relevant software. Must demonstrate such knowledge and skills, including production of a realistic example project during the interview.
Ability to use BIM 360 Design and DOCS software
Excellent knowledge of the latest California Building Code (CBC)
Excellent knowledge of LA City and County Building Codes
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to lead others and foster teamwork, during project design and construction phases
Track record of using good judgment and making timely decisions
Proven ability to set and achieve project, program and organizational goals in terms of client relations, work quality, productivity, scheduling, budgeting and advancing the interests of the team and the company as a whole
Proactive management style
Ability to engage in creative and critical thought and engender innovative solutions to highly complex and challenging problems
