To help ensure this, we are continuously working to improve our infrastructure, buildings and business services and are searching for an excellent candidate to take on the role of Deputy Superintendent for Business Services and Facilities. Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the successful applicant will be responsible for the oversight of planning, organization, coordination and implementation of the District’s business services division; school housing and facility program; including the design, financing and construction of new school buildings and district facilities, and the repair, maintenance, alteration, reconstruction and relocation of existing school buildings and district facilities.
The Deputy Superintendent for Business Services and Facilities provides leadership in two key areas:
1. The Business Services Division:
Direct and coordinate all Business services and functions through the Chief Financial Officer, Directors of Fiscal Services, Transportation, and Food Services Departments.
Advise the Superintendent, Board, and others on all matters relating to the functions of the Business Division.
Direct the development of Board policies related to the Business Division.
Identify, define, and describe policy issues, service programs, and community concerns related to the functions and activities of the Business Division.
2. The Facilities Division:
Direct and coordinate Facilities services and functions through the Chief Facilities Officer.
Direct and coordinate Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds services through the Director of Maintenance of Operations.
Prepare and present periodic or special facility housing and financial reports to the public, funding agencies, Board of Education, Superintendent’s Cabinet, Management Team, school sites and community groups.
The Deputy Superintendent for Business Services and Facilities will also:
Prepare timely and concise reports and recommendations for the Superintendent and Board of Education. Direct and coordinate all division functions through the Chief Financial Officer, Directors of Fiscal Services, Transportation and Fiscal Services.
Direct preparation and execution of the District budget(s) and capital plan(s).
Plan, direct, and participate in the delivery and administration of assigned services and programs; confer with division staff and management personnel to identify and resolve problems, conflicts, and controversies.
Perform related duties as assigned.
